Enrichment Administration, Summer Camp, Sports Teams
Kids in the Game and SBS has formed a deep partnership, starting with recess assistance and morphing into a series of programs. KING has full oversight over the enrichment programming, coordinating over 30 classes with ~15 vendors throughout the week. To build school spirit, KING has coaches both their CYO Basketball and CYO Track & Field programs. Finally, during summer months, KING operates a full-scale summer program for school and neighborhood families.
Consistently ranked as one of Brooklyn and New York City’s top public schools, PS 321 William Penn implemented the KING Recess SPORT program with in 2016. After working with the administration to identify goals of the program, KING sends 3 coaches daily to provide a range of activities. While the team provides sports and games in different zones, there is also an emphasis on movement activities and free play in other areas. The program has decreased bullying in the yard and brought a more inclusive environment to the recess time.
Sports, Dance, and Academics After-School Programming
PS 372K is an inclusion school on the border of Park Slope and Gowanus. Partnering with KING in 2016, the school was seeking an early morning program to help parents that needed to head to work earlier and wanted their kids to participate in meaningful activities. Following the conversation on the early morning program, KING also rolled out a full scale after-school program on Mondays to Wednesdays. The response from the program has been overwhelmingly positive.

Citizens of the World seeks to create a high-achieving public school that reflects the abundant socioeconomic, racial, and cultural diversity of their surroundings. KING partnered with CWC to bring a mix of enrichment and sports programming to support that mission in 3 pieces. First, we provide a NYS certified P.E. teacher to run classes throughout the week that fit their schedule and space. That teacher also provides recess support during the lunch hour, working with teachers to deliver a safe and inclusive program. Finally, our teacher coordinates after-school sports teams for their upper elementary students, creating a sense of school community.
Afterschool Programming, Sports Clinics, Field Day
This network of six formerly struggling Catholic schools known as the Partnership Schools has been partnering with Kids in the Game since their inception. KING works closely with their site directors to provide sports, dance, and academic support. During weekends, KING provides skills-focused sports clinics in soccer, basketball, and volleyball. At the end of the year, we bring the schools together for a 600+ person field day on Randalls Island – a special time of celebration and source for school and network-wide spirit.
